DSC T-Link
Connecting DSC T-Link adapters to the Virtual Monitoring Platform
The T-Link IP communicators from DSC are amongst the most popular IP signalling devices on the market and they can be used to transmit signals over IP to the Virtual Monitoring Platform and on to our partner Monitoring Sevice providers. The T-Link features built-in call direction that will allow signals to be sent to active receivers as well as a local LAN logging application.
There are four models of T-Link:
- TL-150 - Connects to the KEYBUS wiring of all PowerSeries control panels.
- TL-250 - Connects to the PC-Link terminals on Power864 & Maxsys alarm panels.
- TL-300 - Connects to the RJ11 modem port on any alarm panel that supports the Contact ID protocol.
- IT-100 - RS232 communicator for Power Series panels.
- TL-265 - IP only communicator for the Alexor.
Sending signals to Virtual Monitoring with a T-Link
Enter the IP addresses and port numbers of our servers, set the supervision interval and a couple of other parameters and you can quickly be connected to our alarm monitoring platform.
Sending signals to Virtual Monitoring via Email
The following is an example of the information contained in an E-mail from the T-Link module.....
From: T-Link 123456
To: recipient@emailaddress.com
Subject: T-Link v1.0.30; 123456 Event Report
Body: #6789|[Nri0/LS000]
The account number in the subject line is the T-Link's account number. The account number in the message body is from the originator of the signal.
In the above example, the originator was the panel connected on the PC-Link with account number 6789. If the T-Link would have been the originator, the account number in the message body would match the account number in the subject line.
If Contact ID messages are received from the panel, the e-mail will be sent as:
From: T-Link 123456
To: recipient@emailaddress.com
Subject: T-Link v1.2.xx; 123456 Event Report
Body: 6789s1s100s01ss001sMedical
The text length will have a maximum number of characters that will be equal to the longest Contact ID message. A space will be inserted for every s above. [028] E-mail From
The E-mail from option is used for the FROM field in E-mails sent out by the T-Link
TL2XX. If the option is not programmed (all 0's) then the from field of the T-Link TL2XX
will look as follows:
T-Link AAAAAA - where A is the account code of that T-Link TL2XX.
If this option is programmed with any string, the value in the FROM field will be programmed in this option.
Both the ten digit T-Link Account Code (section [003]) and the FROM field should match the MAC address field in the Virtual Monitoring Platform to get the best results.
